Immerse yourself together with Wereldlab, Stichting Hubunganen Stevenskerk Nijmegen in a cross-over of classic Moluccan Culture and its modern uplifting variant. Expect dance, music, and a huge bucket of energy. We are present in/at the Stevenskerk where a great exhibition can be seen from September to November: "Sapa Punja? Moluccan stories from Nijmegen". But you can also find us at the Veerpoorttrappen at Lindenberg this Kunstnacht.

JXGØ

JXGØ — pronounced Djago — is the stage name of David Oerlemans-Tahalele, a 22-year-old interdisciplinary artist and performer from Nijmegen with Dutch and Moluccan roots. He works at the intersection of music, film, sound design, visuals and design.

His work focusses on atmosphere, emotion, texture and storytelling. Electronic music, cinematic compositions, atmospheric sound layers and experimental sound design come together in audiovisual worlds with a strong cinematographic tension build-up and coherence between sound and image.

JXGØ is considered a promising new name within the contemporary music and audiovisual landscape. He was previously seen twice during ESNS/Noorderslag and performed at Willemeen in Arnhem, De Plak and the Kronenburgerpark Zomerfeesten in Nijmegen. His compositions could also be heard as film music under New Rootz's Go Short films in the LUX movie theatre. This year he graduated as a Musician Producer at the vocational training RIJM van Rijn IJssel.

During Kunstnacht, JXGØ stands live behind a DJ setup and brings his music, sound design and projected visuals together in one audiovisual performance. Especially for this evening, the work is tailored to the acoustics and monumental space of the Stevens Church, making the church itself part of the experience.

During the evening, the performance is performed several times, so that you always have the opportunity to experience his work between 8 pm and 11 pm.
